Jiaogulan (Chinese: 绞股蓝), also known as the “Herb of Immortality,” is a climbing plant from the cucumber family. In China and Southeast Asia, its leaves are brewed as tea to support health and longevity. Chemically, Jiaogulan is similar to ginseng — it contains saponin glycosides (gypenosides) with strong therapeutic properties. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), it was used for conditions similar to diabetes (“Xiao Ke syndrome”) and to relieve excessive thirst.
